Paradise Centre, Surfers Paradise

Welcome to Paradise Centre, Surfers Paradise’s largest shopping destination. First Line Engineering is proud to have played a key role in the transformation of Paradise Centre’s Eastern Precinct. Working alongside Hutchinson Builders, we successfully completed the structural steel and metalworks package for this prestigious project. 

Our scope of work involved the supply and installation of structural steel and metalworks throughout various areas, including the Eastern Precinct, existing precinct west of Grid 7, and new escalator works. As part of our comprehensive scope of work, we also took on the responsibility of manufacturing and installing feature metalwork ‘trees’ in the podium landscape zone. To ensure a seamless installation process, we trial fitted these metalwork parts in our manufacturing workshop prior to their on-site installation. The trial fitting allowed us to fine-tune the dimensions and ensure a perfect fit. Due to the nature of the site being a popular tourist destination, we scheduled the installation during less busy periods, specifically at night. This required obtaining road closures to accommodate the crane and ensure safe access to tight locations within the site. During the installation process, our skilled team performed on-site welding to secure the metalwork ‘trees’ into place. This welding was executed in accordance with the relevant welding codes and safety regulations, guaranteeing the structural integrity and safety of the task.

The refurbished precinct now offers an enhanced shopping experience, boasting a wide selection of specialty shops, alfresco beachfront dining options, and thrilling entertainment venues. Visitors can explore a diverse range of stores, indulge in delectable cuisine at renowned restaurants, and enjoy family-oriented attractions such as Timezone, Zone Bowling, and MANIAX Axe Throwing.
